The bare metal needs priming as soon as possible because it will rust quickly. This is an International product called
Interbond 373. It is a two pack epoxy primer designed to spray on bare blasted steel. It will tolerate some slight rust and pitting. I sprayed it on with a standard gravity gun and was very pleased with the result. I have no experience with spraying but it was easy to use and generated minimal mess. It comes in handy 1 litre packs and it covers very well. Here I sprayed the front of the underside and the engine bay which took less than half a litre. I wasted quite a bit because I mixed up the entire pack. It's not super expensive at just over $40 per litre.
